Huge thanks to Deaf Studies Association and Deaf Studies Department for hosting annual Social Justice workshop on first weekend of November 2018.
Mingchen and Kimberly were asked to be part of the panel focusing on our Asian Deaf perspectives. Along with three wonderful individuals: John Pak, Leeann Tang, and Desiree Duong, this panel was a success. Not only that, workshops offered were eye-opening. See the flyer below.
The panel took about an hour and fifteen minutes and the questions asked by the facilitator, Jaspereet Ghorta were excellent. Answering these questions had the audience learn something new about our cultures and words as Deaf Asian individuals. It had been a honor to be part of the panel because it was the first time Social Justice had Asian Deaf panel since 2009.
