Happy Wednesday!
This is Kimberly writing and updating you on what SCADA has been up to. Expect to see more posts from me in the future!
On October 11th, some SCADA officials drove to Northridge for our DANO. What is DANO, you ask? Deaf Asian Night Out. It’s open to everyone who is curious about SCADA and Asian culture! We hosted our fundraiser at Bon Bon Tea House in Northridge. Spoiler? Boba was delicious! I had to order one more before leaving this sweet spot. It was packed with college students and a pleasure to meet so many new and old faces. We hope to host another DANO at Bon Bon Tea House so more of you can come up and say hi to us. Don’t be shy!
Here are some snapshots by Mingchen, President of SCADA.
On Saturday of that weekend, we headed to San Diego for Deafestival. It was SCADA’s first time having a booth at Deafestival and we had a blast meeting new faces. We met many UCSD students, Asian-born couples, and many of you thought that SCADA only covers Los Angeles. No! SCADA represents the entire region of SoCal and that includes San Diego! One goal of ours is to help connect with Deaf Asians who might need our support more than ever. Showing them that SCADA is a support system when one questions their identity of being Asian and Deaf!
Check out our beautiful banner! Leo the Treasurer, Mingchen the President, Sharon the Vice President, and Kimberly the Public Relations Director.
We can’t wait to share the news for our big event coming up in 2019! Keep your eyes out for upcoming workshops and DANO!
